Fire and smoke damage restoration in Toronto and the GTA

After a fire, there's the fire damage, the smoke and soot that spread through the house, and the water used to put it out. We secure the property, clean or remove what's damaged, handle your belongings and rebuild. Your quote shows every line.

Damage happening now?

  1. Make it safe. Stay out of standing water if the power is on.
  2. Take photos and video before you move anything.
  3. Call your insurer for a claim number, then call us.

Fire damage is three problems at once

Fire damage is what burned: framing, cabinets, drywall, roofing. Smoke and soot travel much further, through air ducts, into closets and onto every surface, and soot is acidic, so it stains and corrodes if it sits. Water from firefighting soaks the rest of the house and needs drying like any flood.

Our IICRC-certified technicians deal with all three. The order matters: secure the building, stop the water damage, remove soot before it sets, deal with odour at its source, then rebuild.

Your belongings

Many belongings can be cleaned. We inventory, pack and move them out, clean what can be saved, and list what can't be for your contents claim. When the rebuild is done, they come back.

How it works

What happens after you call

  1. Step 1

    Secure it

Board-up, tarping and fencing if needed, so the property is safe from weather and entry.

We walk the property with you and document damage for your adjuster.

  3. Step 3

    Clean and pack out

Soot and odour treatment, drying, and your belongings inventoried and moved out.

  4. Step 4

    Rebuild

An itemized rebuild quote. Every line is marked covered by your claim or paid by you.

Fire claims and your insurance

Fire is covered by almost every Ontario home policy, but claims are large and have many parts: the building, your contents and additional living expenses if you can't stay at home. Each has its own limits.

We keep those parts separate on your quote so your adjuster can follow it and you can see exactly where the money goes. If you want to change the layout or upgrade finishes during the rebuild, those are priced on their own lines, paid by you.

Questions

Questions we hear

Can smoke damage be cleaned, or does everything need replacing?

A lot can be cleaned, especially hard surfaces and many belongings. Porous materials heavily affected by smoke often need replacing. We tell you which is which, line by line.

How do you get rid of the smoke smell?

By removing the soot that causes it, cleaning the air ducts, sealing affected surfaces and treating the odour at its source. Masking it doesn't work.

Can I stay in my home after a fire?

It depends on the damage. If you can't, your policy may cover additional living expenses. Ask your adjuster early.

What happens to my belongings?

We inventory them, pack them out, clean what can be saved and list what can't for your contents claim.

Do you rebuild after the cleanup?

Yes. We handle the whole job, from board-up to the finished rebuild.

Do you bill my insurance company directly?

Yes. We bill your insurer directly for the covered work, so you only pay your deductible and any lines marked as yours on the quote.
