What drives the cost of a kitchen

Three things make the biggest difference: whether the layout changes, the cabinets and the countertops. Moving a sink, stove or wall means new plumbing, gas or electrical runs, and often a permit. Keeping the layout and replacing finishes costs much less.

On our quotes, you see each of those as separate lines, so you can compare options. For example, keep the sink where it is and put the difference into better cabinets. When you haven't picked a finish yet, we use an allowance, clearly marked, and show you the difference when you choose.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

It depends on the scope. A like-for-like replacement is much faster than a layout change with new plumbing and permits. Your quote includes a schedule.

Do I need a permit for a kitchen renovation?

If you're moving plumbing, gas, electrical or walls, usually yes. Replacing cabinets and counters in place usually doesn't.

What is an allowance?

A set budget for a finish you haven't chosen yet, like countertops. It's clearly marked on your quote. If your choice costs more or less, you see the difference as its own line.

Can you renovate a condo kitchen?

Yes. We work within your building's rules and get the approvals the board needs.
